Osteopathy

L'Ostéopathie

"Osteopathy is a manual diagnostic and therapeutic approach to pathologies. In the context of primary care for patients, it targets only dysfunctions of the musculoskeletal system and the peripheral nervous system."

(Belgian Chamber 2012)

Osteopaths specialize in functional disorders, pain, and pathologies. Their therapeutic approach to patients is primarily manual. Although the majority of indications relate to the musculoskeletal system, osteopaths may also be consulted for functional disorders other than musculoskeletal disorders. Osteopaths work closely with general practitioners or specialists. Osteopaths provide primary care to patients. They support patients with a comprehensive approach and encourage them to take an active role in their treatment. The osteopath's goal is to relieve pain.
